DVD Release: Two TCM Collections from Warner Home Video

For fans of classic films, and in particular the works of these two legends, these DVD’s will be worth adding to your collection.

 

TCM Greatest Classic Films: Legends – Marlon Brando

 

Includes:

• A Streetcar Named Desire – The Original Director’s Version (1951)*

• Julius Caesar (1953)

• The Teahouse of the August Moon (1956)

Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967)

 

*A Streetcar Named Desire won four Academy Awards for Best Actress (Leigh), Supporting Actress (Hunter), Supporting Actor (Malden, and B&W Art/Set Direction.

 

A Streetcar Named Desire is rated PG for thematic elements, and the whole set has been rated PG, although the other three are listed on the back as ‘Not Rated.’

TCM Greatest Classic Films: Legends – Bette Davis

 

Includes:

Now, Voyager (1942)*

Dark Victory (1939)

Old Acquaintance (1943)

Jezebel (1938)**

 

*Now, Voyager won an Academy Award for Best Score (Max Steiner).

**Jezebel won two Academy Awards for Best Actress (Bette Davis), and Best Supporting Actress (Fay Bainter).

 

Although according to the back of the package the films are all considered ‘Not Rated,’ the DVD set has been given a PG.
