Blu-ray Release: The Incredibles

April 12, 2011

Today, Walt Disney Studios’ Home Entertainment is releasing Pixar’s masterpiece, The Incredibles, for the first time on Blu-ray.  Originally released in theatres in 2004, director Brad Bird’s story of a family of undercover superheroes is packed with action and strong characters, and is still just as entertaining and original as it ever was.

I’m a big fan of everything Pixar has to offer, and The Incredibles remains one of the most unique and mature of their films.  This is the first time it is available in HD, and the quality of the Blu-ray is reference-level with spectacular clarity to each scene.

The Blu-ray comes loaded with the bonus features from the original 2-disc DVD release, including both brilliant short films Jack-Jack Attack and Boundin’.  Also included are an exclusive filmmaker roundtable and several new featurettes, as well as a DVD and digital copy of the film.  Specially marked packages also include a free ticket to Pixar’s upcoming Cars 2.

The Incredibles is 115 minutes and rated G.
