Winners of the 69th Annual Golden Globes

January 15, 2012

Hosted by Ricky Gervais for the third year in a row, the 69th Annual Golden Globes took place tonight at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with numerous celebrities in attendance to present and accept the many awards.  Honouring the best movies and TV shows of 2011, The Artist deservingly took home the gold for Best Picture – Comedy or Musical and The Descendants was equally deserving of its triumph in the dramatic category.  Martin Scorsese took home Best Director for the unforgettable Hugo.

The winners in the four main acting categories were Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and George Clooney (The Descendants).  Christopher Plummer (Beginners) and Octavia Spencer (The Help) won in the supporting categories.

I tweeted throughout the evening, offering brief updates that included my thoughts on the winners in many of the major categories and brief commentary on the telecast, but my full and uncensored opinion on everything that happened tonight will be coming tomorrow.  Please see below for a complete list of winners in all fourteen of the film categories.  We would like to take the time to offer our congratulations to everyone who was nominated and took home the awards.  Have a great night, everyone!
