Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Blu-rayToday, Disney is releasing Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day on Blu-ray.  Feeling like nobody understands his rotten luck, young Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) wishes that his family would know what it’s like to have a truly bad day, and that’s exactly what his parents (Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) end up having.

This is a surprisingly enjoyable family comedy that is actually a lot better than the title adjectives might suggest, providing harmless and fast paced entertainment, with a sweet message.  There are several moments that made me smile, with Ed Oxenbould having an easily likeable screen presence, and Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner making a pair of amusing comic foils.  My full review is right here.

The Blu-ray includes bloopers, a video diary with Ed Oxenbould, a production featurette, and a music video by The Vamps.  There’s also a talk with author Judith Viorst and her eponymous real life son, who inspired the original book.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is 81 minutes and rated PG.
