DVD Release: The Walk

January 5, 2016

By John Corrado

The Walk DVDToday, Sony Pictures is releasing The Walk on DVD.  The latest from visionary director Robert Zemeckis, this thrilling and surprisingly moving film recounts the true story of Phillipe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who completed his seemingly impossible dream of hanging a tightrope between the Twin Towers, and performing atop it.

Although The Walk practically begs for the grandeur of IMAX, or at the very least a 3D Blu-ray which I sadly didn’t get for review, the performances, storytelling and technical merits are still worth seeing on the small screen, even just on DVD.  The last act is some of the best filmmaking I saw last year, and my full review of The Walk is right here.

The DVD also includes a featurette with the cast.

The Walk is 123 minutes and rated PG.
