Digital Release: Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade
By John Corrado
A few weeks back, the animated special Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade was released on iTunes. When the eggs that Sid (John Leguizamo) is supposed to be watching are taken by a pirate bunny (Seth Green), it’s up to the rest of the gang to find them, thus creating a new Easter tradition.
Very much in tune with the previous shorts and feature films, Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade is amusing enough to be worth a look for fans of these characters, who might want to check it out before the new film opens this summer. It’s aimed squarely at kids, but this series has always skewed young, so it should play just fine to the target demographic.
It’s also worth nothing that the special was animated by Arc Productions in Toronto, which is kind of cool. The download is proceeded by about fifty minutes of previously released Scrat shorts, and a behind the scenes featurette.
Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade is 24 minutes and rated PG.
