“In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We enjoy a position over those who offer their work and selves up for judgement. We thrive on negative criticism which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.” – Anton Ego – Ratatouille
About the website:
One Movie, Our Views (formerly One Movie, Five Views) is a Canadian entertainment website that was launched in the summer of 2008 with a review of Get Smart. Started by a group of freelance writers from Toronto, the site was founded on the idea that a team of critics would each watch the same movie, write a review and then form a consensus averaging out the number grades, to offer a selection of different opinions or views on the same movie.
The bulk of our main content includes reviews of movies newly released to theatres, including everything from big blockbusters to tiny independent films, as well as reviews and profiles of titles new to Blu-ray and DVD. We also feature opinion pieces on different aspects of the entertainment industry, and reviews of film related books and soundtracks from time to time. We also share interviews with notable names in the industry, and offer notable pieces of entertainment related news from time to time.
All of our reviews are free of offensive language and any spoilers will be marked in advance. As for comments, we always welcome the thoughts and opinions of our readers and will try to find an answer to any of your questions. We often try to respond, but comments on more recent posts and ones that are directly related to what we wrote are more likely to get a reply. However, we will not upload any overly offensive comments, so please keep things civilized.
